In the first quarter of 2025, the communication app landscape on the Android platform in Greece saw significant activity. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Rakuten Viber Messenger demonstrated a notable increase in revenue, which peaked at about $4.5K in late February. Downloads began strong with over 12K at the start of the quarter, tapering off to just under 8K by March's end. Active users remained robust, hovering around 3.2M to 3.3M throughout the period.

Telegram experienced a steady climb in revenue, ending March with roughly $3.5K. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 7.5K mid-March. Meanwhile, active users initially decreased but rebounded to approximately 620K by the quarter's close.

Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out saw revenue remain relatively stable, with minor fluctuations. Downloads started at around 3.2K and dipped towards 2.6K by March. Active users showed a positive trend, increasing to over 258K by the end of the quarter.

Azar: Video Chat, Meet Friends had a slight increase in revenue in February, reaching a peak of $782. Downloads remained fairly consistent, though they dropped from 713 to 418 over the quarter. Active users showed a gradual decline, ending at about 2.5K.

Skype experienced a gradual decrease in revenue, closing March at $136. Downloads saw a high of 2.2K early in the quarter, declining to 793 by the end. Active users peaked at over 209K in early March but then tapered off.
